A classic

“I already saw this movie but since it was a while ago and since I had it on DVD, I was quite eager to check it out again. To be honest, since it is one of the longest movies in my collection, I kept delaying this rewatch for quite some time but I'm glad I finally took the time to watch again the dam” read more

An average movie

“In fact, for a very long time, I had been planning to watch 'It' around this time of the year with Nick, my step-son, but, at the very last moment,  he came to the conclusion that he didn't feel like watching something so scary and he was eventually more eager to watch an action movie so I sugges” read more

Last Tango in Paris
Notes: Marlon Brando’s career has always been rather chaotic and this flick must have been his most controversial one. Basically, it is quite a messed up flick, I have to admit that it is an acquired taste and if you are not yourself more or less twisted, there is a fair chance that you won’t like it whatsoever. Personally, I thought it was just fascinating and it is one of the best studies about sex I have ever seen. The point is that Marlon Brando’s character is pretty much a major frustrated manipulative douche-bag and, apparently himself and Bertolucci were quite terrible towards the very young Maria Schneider, so it is something that you have to be able to handle otherwise, the whole thing would be almost unwatchable. For Brando, 1972 would be an amazing year as he would also star in ‘The Godfather’, possibly the best movie ever made. Eventually, I was really impressed by this flick and, even though it is definitely not for everybody, I think it is worth a look, especially if you are interested in Bernardo Bertolucci’s work.

An average movie

“To be honest, I thought I had seen enough Nicholas Sparks’s book adaptations but, since this one was fairly well received, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, the beginning was not promising, that’s for sure. Indeed, it was just so annoying, generic and tedious to watch, like most of S” read more

Original Title: 'Pusher III' Country: Denmark Directed by: Nicolas Winding Refn Plot: In this third installment of the 'Pusher' trilogy, we follow Milo, the drug lord from the two first films. He is aging, he is planning his daughter's 25th birthday and his shipment of heroin turns out to be 10.000 pills of ecstasy. When Milo tries to sell the pills anyway, all Hell breaks loose. Note: To be honest, since I was slightly disappointed by ‘Pusher II’, I actually lowered my expectations for this 3rd and last installment. Fortunately, the movie was actually pretty good. First of all, what I liked the most about this trilogy was that it didn’t focus on one character but instead move on from one character to another through the whole trilogy. This 2nd sequel focused thus on Milo who was easily one of the most charismatic guys introduced in these movies.

A good movie

“To be honest, since I was slightly disappointed by ‘Pusher II’, I actually lowered my expectations for this 3rd and last installment. On top of that, even though the DVD was brand-new, it seemed to be actually defect and, as a result, my DVD player was buzzing like a god-damned helicopter throug” read more

An average movie

“Obviously, I wasn’t expecting much from this movie but since I have seen most of the movies directed by Roland Emmerich, I was still eager to check it out. Well, first of all, the whole thing was just seriously misguided. I mean, I have to admit it, ‘Independence Day’ was actually not bad but,” read more
