A good movie

“Since I really loved 'Ex-Machina', I was really eager to see Alex Garland's 2nd directing effort and it was definitely one of the my highest priorities for 2018. On top of that, it was suddenly available on Netflix which was a really nice surprise. Well, eventually, even though it turned out to be p” read more

Scorpio Rising (1964)
Notes: Well, it turned out to be a really weird experimental movie, almost a documentary but with no dialogue or comment whatsoever. At least, the soundtrack was pretty neat but there was still something quite intriguing about the damned thing. I have to admit that I'm not familiar at all with Kenneth Anger's work but apparently he was (and still is) a cult filmmaker who specialised in such short modern experimental features. In this case, he gave a weird mix of bikers who seem to be gay but there was also some random Nazi symbols and some religious icons and movies popping up from time to time. There was also some homo-erotic vibe through the whole thing and the combination of all these elements resulted in something quite unique but I'm glad the running time was rather short since it was rather difficult to digest.

"@Badger, unfortunately, 'Heathers' got only 9 points which wasn't enough to get a spot in the top 100."

A good movie

“I wasn't really sure what to expect from this movie and the main reason why I wanted to check it out was because it was included in the '1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die' list. Well, to be honest, my first reaction was that it seemed to be yet another really obscure entry that could be easily” read more

An average movie

“I wasn't really expecting much from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Alicia Vikander and since Nick, my step-son, was really eager to check it out, we still went to see this movie when it was released. Well, to be honest, even though the previous installments starring Angelina Jolie have ” read more
