Ghost Town
Note : I'm so amazed by the low ratings for this movie. Sure, to have someone talking with some dead people is just a terrible gimmick but this movie was just so damned hilarious and both Ricky Gervais and Greg Kinnear were just pitch-perfect here. Better than : Ghost (a box-office success but such a cheesy movie)

Coming back to what Papuluna wrote, later on, in fact many years later, I did read the books as well and she was completely right. Indeed, in the book, Salander does really fall in love with Blomkvist

Young Frankenstein
Notes: With this movie, I was expecting to be blown away by some hilarious jokes but, eventually, even though I did enjoy the damned thing, I was just smiling from time to time but I was never really laughing out loud. So, I guess it was unfortunately not my type of humor. Still, it remains a very well made feature, probably the most impressive visually speaking delivered by Mel Brooks. Indeed, it really gave the feeling of those old horror movies from the 30's. Furthermore, it was actually a great idea to turn this classic story into a comedy since the plot was, when you think about it, actually completely preposterous and ridiculous. The cast was pretty good and even though Gene Wilder was supposed to be the big star, I above all enjoyed Igor who was stealing the show every time he was on the screen. Eventually, even though it didn't really blow me away, I did liked this movie and it is definitely a classic.

In Cold Blood
What is is about? It details the 1959 murders by Richard Eugene "Dick" Hickock and Perry Edward Smith of four members of the Herbert Clutter family in the small farming community of Holcomb, Kansas. Personal note: Since I kept hearing some really good things about this flick, I was really eager to check it and I was definitely not disappointed at all. Indeed, it was a fascinating thriller, probably the best thriller I have ever read. Quote: "Deal me out, baby,’ Dick said. ‘I’m a normal.’ And Dick meant what he said. He thought of himself as balanced, as sane as anyone—maybe a bit smarter than the average fellow, that’s all. But Perry—there was, in Dick’s opinion, ‘something wrong’ with Little Perry."

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Notes: Since it is such a classic, I really had to watch this flick at some point and I had some rather high expectations (you can say whatever you want but it is definitely a really bad-ass title). The first time I watched it, to be honest, I was actually rather apprehensive as I thought it would be really terrifying. Eventually, I thought it was not really scary, sure, it was unsettling but not really scary. To make up my mind for good, I even saw it again later on but I still had the same feeling. Another thing that always bothered me was the ending which was seriously a total mess. So, I think the whole thing is a little bit outdated now and not really frightening anymore but you still have to keep in my mind that it was made almost 40 years old and it has been hugely influential on all the slashers that came afterwards. On top of that, they still managed to create a great mood and I really enjoyed the damned thing. Eventually, in spite of its flaws, it was an absolute milestone for this genre and it remains a classic.
