“To be honest, since ‘Knight of Cups’ already turned out to be a disappointment, I had already lowered down my expectactions concerning this movie. Well, unfortunately, even though it turned out to be slightly better, once again, I still had a hard time to care about the damned thing. I mean, as ” read more

“I didn't expect much from this flick but since Renny Harlin's movies have always been a guilty pleasure of mine, I still wanted to check it out. First of all, you have to keep in mind the convoluted production for this movie. Indeed, at first, Paul Schrader was supposed to direct it but then, when h” read more

“To be honest, I didn't expect much from this flick but since I have a weak spot for Halle Berry, I thought I might as well check it out. Well, unfortunately, it turned out to be really weak and, at this point, you wonder if she will ever showed up in something really worthwhile. At least, she still ” read more

What is it about? An agent in the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit tracks down serial killers and rapists. My verdict: Even though the movies delivered by Netflix have been only decent at best, they still deliver some of the best TV-shows right now and this one was also pretty awesome. Just like with 'House of Cards', David Fincher did direct the 2 first episodes but in this case, he also direct the last 2 episodes of the 1st season and the damned thing just looked amazing. On top of that, it is just a fascinating and realistic show with some really interesting characters so I really loved the damned thing. Will I watch the following seasons? Yeah, it is pretty awesome so I definitely checked the 2nd season as well. Unfortunately, it was already cancelled which is too bad because it was definitely one of my favorite things on Netflix.

Twin Peaks: The Return
Cast : Kyle MacLachlan, Mädchen Amick, Richard Beymer, Sherilyn Fenn, Peggy Lipton, Everett McGill, Ray Wise, Sheryl Lee, Grace Zabriskie, David Lynch, David Duchovny, Robert Forster, Naomi Watts, Laura Dern, Jim Belushi, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tom Sizemore, Tim Roth, Harry Dean Stanton, Ashley Judd, Matthew Lillard, Amanda Seyfried, Alicia Witt, Monica Bellucci, Michael Cera, Bérénice Marlohe, Jane Levy, John Savage What was it about? Picks up 25 years after the inhabitants of a quaint northwestern town are stunned when their homecoming queen is murdered. My two cents: Since I loved the original TV-show, of course, I had to watch his 3rd season. Eventually, to come back to Twin Peaks and its weird characters was just a real treat and I really loved the damned thing. However, even though it was expected, since the whole thing was really weird, even much weirder than the previous seasons, I have to admit that I probably didn't get half of it though. As a result, I'm not sure that anyone outside the Twin Peaks fanbase would really care for this relaunch at all, even if Jim Jarmusch himself has claimed that he considered it as the best of American Cinema of the last decade. As far as I was concerned, it took too long for the 'real' Dale Cooper to finally 'wake up' and, in my opinion, pretty much out of nowhere, he was back just when they needed to finally wrap up the whole thing. Still, if you loved the original Twin Peaks, you will have to watch this at some point, that's for sure. My rating: 08/10

The Post
Cast : Tom Hanks, Meryl Streep What was it about? A cover-up that spanned four U.S. Presidents pushed the country's first female newspaper publisher and a hard-driving editor to join an unprecedented battle between the press and the government My two cents: First of all, I must admit that, since it was about 'The Washington Post' during the 70's, I thought it would be about the Watergate but it was in fact about another story preceeding this other scandal and, in fact, this movie was pretty much a sequel to 'All the President's Men', especially with its end scene. Anyway, eventually, even though it didn't turn out to be anything really groundbreaking, it was still an effective historical thriller and, at least, I thought it was better than 'Bridge of Spies' which was rather overrated in my opinion. With such historical thrillers, it is always rather tricky to keep the viewers on their toes since the outcome is pretty obvious from the very start but it was still entertaining enough. As usual with this director, it was also technically a very well made movie, especially visually speaking. Concerning the actors, Tom Hanks was not bad but I was above all impressed by Meryl Street who is still one of the very best actresses at work nowadays which is so impressive considering how long she has been in this business. To be honest, like most the of other work from Spielberg, it was still slightly too upbeat for my taste and it was even borderline cheesy towards the end but it wasn't a big issue. Anyway, even though it was nothing really amazing, I thought it was a decent watch. My rating: 7/10 Check the full review

“To be honest, I wasn't expecting much from the damned thing but since it was on the TV, I thought I might as well check it out.
