“To be honest, it has been a while since I saw this movie. Anyway, Alain Chabat might not be famous abroad but he is pretty big in France for already 30 years. Basically, he started with a comedian group called ‘Les Nuls’ and when the group stopped, he started to show up in some successful comedi” read more

“Recently, my wife and I just finished watching ‘The Killing’ and since we were both eager to check something else involving Joel Kinnaman, I thought we should check out this movie. Eventually, I thought it was not bad but I’m pretty sure I will forget about it soon enough. I mean, sure, it was” read more

“I know, it is another seriously obscure feature but I remember quite well when I saw this movie. Indeed, I had absolutely no idea what to expect from the damned thing but since it was one of the first movie directed by Robert Altman, I was quite eager to check it out. A good movie

“Basically, it is another really obscure French movie. In fact, if I recall it correctly, I’m pretty sure I saw the damned thing in the movie theater when it was released at the time. Indeed, a few years before, I saw ‘Le péril jeune’ when it was on TV (for some reasons, it was released at the” read more

An average movie

“To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this flick and I should probably re-watch it at some point. The tricky thing with Francis Ford Coppola is that even though his movies from the 80’s were not really so bad, they never reached the level of the masterpieces he made in th 70’s ('Ap” read more

When Harry Met Sally...
Notes: In my opinion, this movie is the ultimate romantic-comedy. Indeed, even though I always had a weak spot for the genre, to be honest, most of the rom-coms are actually so underwhelming. The main reason, in my opinion, is that they are usually poorly written and usually focusing on some terrible gimmicks. The great romantic-comedies, in fact, never put the accent on the gimmicks but on the characters and their relationship. This flick does it so well, not only it gives us some really 3 dimensional characters but, above all their relationship was just really sweet, sad, recognizable and pretty often quite hilarious. Following this flick, Meg Ryan pretty much became the queen of the genre with some various amount of success and it's just too bad she pretty much butchered her pretty face with some ill-advised plastic surgery during the last decade. Anyway, there is no denying that she and Billy Crystal had some great chemistry in this flick.

An average movie

“Since this movie had a really lame reputation, I wasn’t expecting much but since I have a weak spot for Naomi Watts and since my wife has always been interested in Diana, I thought we might check this one together. “I already saw this movie but I was wondering if it was still deserving its poor reputation after all these years so I wanted to check it out again. Well, the answer would be ‘yes’ and ‘no’.
