Notes: Since this movie has a really solid reputation, I was really eager to check it out and I had some rather high expectations. Well, eventually, it turned out to be a decent stoner comedy but definitely not the best in the genre and I much more enjoyed 'Friday' and 'Pineapple Express'. I mean, I didn't mind the randomness, it obviously goes with the territory, it was above all the fact that the jokes were just so hit-and-miss. I have to admit that some of the scenes were indeed quite hilarious but many jokes were barely amusing. Furthermore, the whole concept of the truck made of weed was a rather weak idea and I think it would have been more fun to have these two stoners endlessly looking for some weed and getting in trouble in the procress. On top of that, I had a rather hard time to care about the characters. Indeed, Cheech and Chong were not bad but not really amazing and the supporting characters were even less entertaining. Anyway, even though it didn't live up to my expectations, it was still a decent comedy.8 years, 1 month ago

Notes: To be honest, I was seriously bored by the whole thing. I mean, in fact, I was even planning to give it an even lower rating but since there were a couple of good tunes and since the dancing was pretty neat, I gave it a few extra points but it doesn't change the fact that I didn't like it much. Basically, the main issue I have with the damned thing is that not only it is terribly sweet and cheesy but it is in fact really about nothing at all. I mean, I believe that if you love movies because they tell you a great story or show you some compelling characters or talk about some interesting subjects, then I have some serious doubts that you will like this movie. Seriously, it is not very often that I came across such a successful movie which turned out to be in fact so empty. 8 years, 1 month ago
