A good movie

“By now, I think we pretty much know everything that needs to be known about Michael Jackson so I'm not sure if we really needed yet another documentary about the King of Pop but since it was directed by Spike Lee, I thought I might as well give it a try. Well, eventually, even though it was nothing ” read more

A good movie

“Since I have always been interested in Gus Van Sant's work, obviously, I was quite eager to check his directing debut. Basically, like many other American directors like David Lynch or Kevin Smith, Van Sant made also his first movie on a shoestring budget (apparently, around 25000 dollars). Anyway, ” read more

An average movie

“Last year, I saw 'The Lobster' when it was released with my film club and since it was pretty good, I was quite eager to see this previous directing effort from the same director. Well, it was once again a really weird movie, something really absurd and experimental but, even though it was a decent ” read more

A good movie

“To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this flick and I wonder if I actually saw it in the movie theater when it was released.  I remember it very well though, back then, it did receive some pretty good reviews and it would provide a (deserved) breakthrough for Maggie Gyllenhaal. Crimson Peak
Cast : Charlie Hunnam, Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Mia Wasikowska What was it about? Young author Edith Cushing discovers that her charming new husband is not who he appears to be. My two cents: Following 'Pacific Rim' which was decent but slightly underwhelming, fortunately, it didn’t take Guillermo del Toro so long to come up with a new directing effort and this new project seemed to be some perfect material for him. Indeed, he really delivered a high-class Gothic horror tale with some impressive sets, some gorgeous costumes, some great special effects and a very strong cast. And yet, the whole thing still failed to really impress me. Basically, at the end of the day, the story wasn't really strong in my opinion. Indeed, the pacing is really sluggish and, very soon, it was pretty obvious what the hell was going on and, unfortunately, I can’t say I really cared about the characters and what they were going through. An average movie

“Nowadays, Daniel Craig has been hailed as a great James Bond. Indeed, all of his movies have been really successful at the box-office and at least 2 of them are considered as major classics in this franchise (‘Casino Royale’ and ‘Skyfall’). It is all well and quite deserved but, as a result,” read more
