Notes: I remember very well when this movie came out. Indeed, I even saw it when it was released and I was just completely blown away by the whole thing. I was very young back then, I had never seen anything similar before and, in my opinion, it was nearly pitch-perfect. Basically, the whole thing was just so poetic, it was definitely a really mesmerizing picture. Obviously the acting and the direction were pretty impressive and it might even be my favorite Johnny Depp movie. Since then, I have kept following Jim Jarmusch’s work, I have seen all his movies (except for ‘The Limits of Control’ which I still need to see) and, even though some of them were really good, no one of them ever managed to reach again this level of awesomeness. Eventually, it is a rather acquired taste but it is definitely worth a look, especially if you want to see what Johnny Depp was doing in the 90's when he used to be one of the most inspiring actors in the world.

Notes: Obviously, 15 years later, the twist at the end seems a little bit lame but when I saw it the first time at the movie theater, it really blew my mind. I guess it's a movie you can really enjoy only the first time and, obviously, before watching this flick, you have to be completely unaware of the twist occurring at the end. As a result, to be honest, the second watch was also pretty cool since you can check all the details but the end had therefore barely any impact. In fact, Roger Ebert really didn’t like this movie at all because, according to him, there is actually nothing to understand in this plot and, therefore, he just didn’t care at all for the whole thing. Ebert was definitely in the minority since this movie was a massive critical and popular success but I do understand where he was coming from and, when you re-watch this flick knowing how it will all end, it does feel indeed a little bit pointless.

Notes: Was anyone really asking for yet another installment for this already really lame franchise? I mean, I have to admit it, I actually have a weak spot for the first 'Scary Movie' but all the sequels were pretty bad and this one was even worse. This time, they decided to spoof mostly 'Paranomal Activity 2' which I saw in fact not so long ago and, there, you already had an issue. Indeed, by spoofing a good movie like 'Inception' was not a bad idea but to spoof something already really underwhelming like 'Paranomal Activity 2' was really misguided and not funny whatsoever.
