A good movie

“The last time I saw my sister, she bought me a DVD-box with the complete work of Xavier Dolan so that's how I ended up watching his movies. It was actually pretty neat because, even though I kept hearing some interesting things about the guy, I hadn't watched anything he had directed yet. Obviously,” read more

22 Longest-running American sitcoms (22 tv items)

"many suggestions in the comments (such as 'Supernatural' or 'Dallas') are TV-shows but no comedies so it makes sense that they not have been included, otherwise, you could add so many shows like : -"

A good movie

“I already saw this movie, in fact, if I’m not mistaken, I think I even saw it in the movie theater when it was released, but since it was a while back, I thought I might as well check it out again. Well, even though I always had some mixed feelings towards the damned thing, I have to admit that it” read more

Heat
Notes: I remember very well when this movie came out. Indeed, back then, Robert De Niro and Al Pacino were still a big deal and when the word came out that they would finally star together in a movie, like any other average movie fanatic, I was just thrilled. Eventually, I even saw the damned thing in the movie theater when it was released and I was certainly not disappointed. Of course, eventually, we were all slightly cheated since they only had two scenes together, for a total of less than 10 minutes, but it was still a very well made and really entertaining heist feature. The masterstroke with this movie is that, instead of rushing everything and focusing on the action scenes, they took their time. As a result, De Niro and Pacino had enough space to develop their characters and you had the opportunity to root for both guys, the thief and the cop, which is something very rare and it was very well handled here.

An average movie

“To be honest, it has been a while since I have seen this movie. Still, I remember fairly well when I saw the damned thing. Indeed, back then, it was one of the very last movies directed by Steven Spielberg that I still hadn’t watch yet at the time so I was really eager to check the damned thing. W” read more

An average movie

“Since this movie was the last one directed by Sofia Coppola I still needed to see, I was quite eager to check it out. Eventually, I was amazed about how underwhelming it was. Indeed, it is apparently some American tradition to have some kind of Christmas specials and Netflix thought they should rele” read more

“Even though I'm not a huge fan, since François Ozon is still a really interesting director, I was quite eager to check this movie. Well, like most of the movies from this director, it left me equally intrigued and disappointed. Indeed, the whole thing definitely had some potential but I thought he ” read more

A classic

Dead Man (1995)
Notes: I remember very well when this movie came out. Indeed, I even saw it when it was released and I was just completely blown away by the whole thing. I was very young back then, I had never seen anything similar before and, in my opinion, it was nearly pitch-perfect. Basically, the whole thing was just so poetic, it was definitely a really mesmerizing picture. Obviously the acting and the direction were pretty impressive and it might even be my favorite Johnny Depp movie. Since then, I have kept following Jim Jarmusch’s work, I have seen all his movies (except for ‘The Limits of Control’ which I still need to see) and, even though some of them were really good, no one of them ever managed to reach again this level of awesomeness. Eventually, it is a rather acquired taste but it is definitely worth a look, especially if you want to see what Johnny Depp was doing in the 90's when he used to be one of the most inspiring actors in the world.
